Basswood Sink Washstand   This piece follows an  antique from Guelph Ontario Canada.  The Sink was carved from a solid block of wood from a four foot diameter basswood tree.   The door and sides  are raised panels fashioned  out of  wide planks, allowing them to be  lamination free. The door handle and  legs posts are hand turned.  Epoxy and tongue oil finished make this extremely durable.  19th Century. Solid Basswood
